Dr. Anita Harper, Principal

 Dr. Harper served as assistant principal at George Wythe High School in Richmond, Virginia for seven years. She has over 20 years of educational experience. During her tenure in education, Dr. Harper has served as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Business teacher, CTE Department Chair, Education for Employment Coordinator, Cooperative Education Coordinator, Administrative Aide, and Program Chair. Dr. Harper has also served as an adjunct instructor for Southside Virginia Community College, John Tyler Community College, and Virginia College.

She is currently an adjunct instructor for Virtual Virginia with the Virginia Department of Education. Dr. Harper received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Longwood University and master’s degree in Business Administration from Averett University. She continued her educational pursuits and earned her Educational Administration License from Longwood University and her Education Specialist and Doctorate in Education degrees from Liberty University.

Upon accepting the position, Dr. Harper is excited about serving and working towards excellence. “I am excited and honored for the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and community of Charles City High School as principal. I am passionate about the work that I do on a daily basis for staff and students, and I look to contribute and build on the excellence of Charles City County Public Schools.” Dr. Dalphine Joppy, division superintendent, commented, “We are proud to announce Dr. Harper as principal of Charles City High School, and we are excited to have her join the CCPS team to support the work of teaching and learning and bring out the best in our scholars. Dr. Harper brings an enthusiasm for instructional leadership and a personable approach that is contagious.”

Dr. Keyvette Peebles is excited to join the CCPS High School as the Assistant Principal. Previously, Dr. Peebles served as the CCPS Division Assistant Principal for Elementary, and High School. For over 20 years, Dr. Peebles has supported students, teachers, and families through cultivating a positive school community and building strong home and school connections based on collaboration and trust. Prior to joining CCPS, Dr. Peebles served as an Academic Coordinator, Instructional Compliance Coordinator, Exceptional Children’s Facilitator, Administrative Aide, Summer School Administrative Intern and Special Education Teacher. Dr. Peebles has also served as the Coordinator of Student Accessibility at Virginia State University. She currently serves as an adjunct professor with the Evelyn Syphax School of Education at Virginia Union University.

Dr. Peebles is a graduate of Virginia State University where she received a BIS in Individualized Studies and a M.Ed. Degree in Special Education. She earned a Post Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University and an Educational Doctorate (Ed. D) in Educational Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University. Dr. Peebles also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education Student Success from Walden University.

Dr. Peebles is a passionate, dedicated, student focused educator with a strong commitment to student achievement and character development.  She engages in dynamic 21st century learning opportunities and it is her belief that, “demographics are not destiny; all students can achieve at high levels”.
